One Skillet Meal Recipes Round Up
Last week I had the pleasure of sharing TWO of my favorite one skillet meal recipes with the guests at the Indiana Farm Bureau Young Farmers Conference. I think the guests liked the recipes AND they laughed both with me AND at me! I consider that a win.
Since I have been on such a skillet meal kick lately, I thought I would round up my most clicked on skillet meals for you today. Please let me know if you have made these, if you have any questions, or comments on the recipes.
I shared tips on how preparing ingredients ie: chopping, zesting beforehand truly is a good thing. Also, I shared that the foundation of a one skillet meal that your family will really eat is knowing a few things about searing meat to make a pan sauce, cooking the pasta/rice IN the skillet for better flavor (and less dishes) and how to spot a good saute pan that is not going to break the bank. I brought a few of my favorites to use: a 12″ saute from T-Fal that I have had for years and this newer (to me) piece from Vollrath- a 12″ fry pan in aluminum finish from Zesco. One thing to keep in mind is that your pan is not warped or have peeling finish. I tend to lean towards aluminum pans because they work on my portable induction cook top and they are ideal for making a pan sauce. When you cook at the proper temperature and use just a bit of fat- your meat should not stick.
