I LOVE LUCY® LIVE ON STAGE is the brand-new hit stage show adapted from the most beloved program in television history! America’s favorite foursome – Lucy, Ricky, Fred and Ethel – is live on stage and in color for the very first time! Opening night in Indianapolis is Tuesday February 11th at the Murat Theater!

Sirena Irwin and Bill Mendieta lead the company as Lucy and Ricky Ricardo, reprising the roles they created in the original Los Angeles and Chicago productions. I had the chance to sit down with them last week to interview them for Around the Kitchen Sink Radio– air date Thursday January 23 at 10 pm est on toginet.com.

What better place to meet “Lucy and Ricky” than at The Best Chocolate in Town on Mass Ave in Indianapolis. We took a tour and learned some interesting facts about chocolate, how their out of this world treats are made and we even sampled a few! Below are just a few of the many great shots I took on this fun afternoon.

001

They make something for everyone!

002

I grabbed a few things for my kids of course. Not me. I didn’t sneak one bite ????

005

Let me just say- these seafoams dipped in caramel are about the best thing I have ever eaten. You MUST get your hands on some.

019

Excited to start our tour!

020

Love at first bite!

022

Thank you SO much Elizabeth for your time ????

034

Could they BE any cuter?

047

Naughty melted chocolate thoughts included: melted chocolate would make a great facial!

052

We were told no facial.

054

I can’t wait to see them LIVE on stage!

GIVEAWAY OVER!!!

I am giving away ONE family 4- pack of tickets to opening night at the Murat Theater to one of YOU! A bit about I Love Lucy…

The iconic hit sitcom I LOVE LUCY® originally aired on CBS from 1951 – 1957 for a total of six seasons and 179 episodes and is widely considered to be one of the most popular programs in the history of television. Due in no small part to its relatable characters, sharp comedic writing and Lucille Ball’s signature zany charm, the show continues to endear new audiences with every passing generation. The program was a technical trailblazer, pioneering the multi-camera shooting technique (still employed by the majority of traditional sitcoms to this day) and the use of 35mm film for the capture of a weekly, 30-minute scripted television program (which made possible the re-airing of episodes at a later date, what we now know as “reruns”). In September 2012, I LOVE LUCY® was named the “Best TV Show Of All Time” and the “Greatest TV Comedy” by People Magazine and ABC’s “20/20” special “Best in TV: The Greatest TV Shows of Our Time.”

So many good ones....I do love the episode where Lucy has trouble telling Ricky she's expecting, & ends up at his show, where he's given the message that someone in the audience wants to tell her husband they're having a baby. Not knowing it's Lucy, he sings "We're Having a Baby" while going through the audience to see who it is. Of course, he eventually discovers it's him & Lucy. It's not necessarily one of the funniest episodes, but definitely one of the sweetest!

I like the episode where Lucy and Ethel dress in gunny sacks because they think it is high Paris fashion! Lucy is a classic!

Just one episode? Oh man, there are so many good ones! I think ONE of my favorites is when Lucy is pregnant and she's trying to tell Ricky for the first time, and she ends up on stage with him dancing when he finally hears about it... it's great. Oh, just read that someone else commented about that one, too! I also love the episode when she has to squish grapes with her feet and the other women keep harassing her... ;)

One of my favorites was when I think they were job switching, boys were going to do house chores, and the girls were on the chocolate belt, and it was crazzzzzy funny. I lived that show.

I Love Lucy!!! I grew up watching ILL on the old black and white TV's with the rabbit ears. Every episode was my favorite, but I think my most favorite one was when Lucy was a spokes woman for Vitameatavegamin. Lucy had to take a taste of the famous elixir during every take and there were many takes, by the end of the taping she was snoggered. It was hilarious! Even now I look for the reruns to watch, she never gets old.

I adore I Love Lucy! My favorite episode happens to be where Lucy messes up the Fipp's Commercial because Ricky lied to her about it. She came out a big mess dressed in an old sack and messed up the live commercial. It was hilarious!!

My fav I Love Lucy episode is when she and Ethal are working at the candy factory. When they can't pack it fast enough and she starts shoving them in her mouth. Hilarious :)

What a challenge to choose one! But my mind always goes to the episode when Little Ricky was born. Ricky, Fred and Ethel are so poised and controlled during "practice" but then fall to pieces when Lucy's labor really started. Makes me smile every time!
