Sriracha Wings recipe anyone?

Earlier this week I mentioned that I have a recurring segment on IndyStyle (I am over the moon about it!). The other half of that news is that I will be appearing bi-weekly on Fox59 a well. Friday’s at 9:45 am I will be on with Jim O’Brien in our segment titled: Eating Around Indy. In our inaugural segment I served Honey Sriracha Baked Chicken Wings and Bacon Green Chili Cheddar Stuffed Bread. That is a mouthful. Literally.

Watch our segment HERE

These are 2 quick and easy recipes that are perfect for tailgating or parties. The sauce on the wings has just the right amount of heat without clearing your sinuses. I skipped the step of parboiling the wings to render a bit more fat out and simply baked them. I took the step of clipping off the wing tip to avoid burning in the oven. You don’t have to do this and as a matter of fact my husband actually likes the wing tips. Use your best judgement here. If you clip- use sharp kitchen shears for best results. In my opinion that is :)

This sauce was created in conjunction with Wayne Shive, creator of Best Boy and Co. We were having a lunch meeting discussing my upcoming segment. He coached me on hot sauce blends and next thing you know we came up with this zesty little number. How perfect is butter, honey and Sriracha??

Give these a try. Let me know what you think!

Yes, I realize my sauce is not in the picture. These are from the set and I didn't get one. Here's a hint: it's red!

Bacon Green Chili Cheddar Stuffed Bread

This is not so much a recipe as it is a creation. This is also GREAT with taco seasoning in place of Ranch dressing and taco fillings instead of bacon. Like pizza? The same idea applies. Lots of options here :)
  • 1 Italian loaf of bread
  • 1 lb bacon
  • 2 C Mexican blend cheese
  • 1 small can green chilis, drained
  • 1 stick butter, melted
  • 1 packet Ranch dressing mix
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Slice bread (only at ½ depth) in a tic-tac-toe pattern on surface of bread.
  3. Lay loaf on a large sheet of foil on a cookie sheet.
  4. Stuff cooked bacon, cheese and green chili's in the cuts.
  5. Combine melted butter and Ranch powder.
  6. Brush sides of bread with the butter mixture, drizzle the rest over the top.
  7. Wrap tightly in foil.
  8. Bake for 15 minutes.
  9. Open foil and allow to bake another 5-10 minutes or until cheese is melted and bread is bubbly.
  10. Serve immediately.
