Nothing makes me feel more energized than a warm spring day. Throw open the windows and open the doors! It really only has to be slightly warm out for me to at least open the kitchen windows. I just love the feel of the breeze on my face.
Sunday was an unseasonably warm day here in Indiana. It was about 82 degrees at my house and the sunlight was beautiful coming through the trees that have yet to leaf out. it is a good time to hike in our woods as the “things that lurk about” are not very active yet. No mosquito’s to flee from, no citronella torches to fill….Just swinging the afternoon away by the water.
My kids decided to dust off their fishing poles and catch a few with my husband and my father. I think they caught a few and as usual they threw them back. This giant fish tank is stocked with local varieties as well as several very large turtles and a few Grass Carps. Those look like the Loch Ness Monster when moving through the water.
My husband and I had a nice long run before the Boys came home and worked in the yard. There is something satisfying about a job well done and when you have stared at the layers of leaves all winter long you are chomping at the bit to be rid of them. We have the blisters to prove it.
At the end of the day after the dishes were done, children showered and put to bed we settle down to watch something that we do every Sunday night and have a glass of wine. This is the time I really feel like a grown up. Home maintenance, dinner, dishes and housework, children to bed and a weekly routine completed.
I really feel at peace and I think that is all you can ask for in life, really ????
