Cancer fighting foods play a huge role in the life and wellness of a cancer patient. These easy, healthy recipes can help your body get well and stay well!
If you have been following this site for a while, the chances are good that you’ve heard me mention the Little Red Door Cancer Agency and their nutrition education Door to Wellness cooking classes. I have been a volunteer there for a quite a while now.
All of the recipes made in the Door to Wellness classes focus on the use of cancer fighting foods, and they’re budget friendly, too. During each class, 15-20 of the clients create a meal together using healthy, budget friendly, easy-to-find cancer fighting foods, then they share the meal with the other clients after class.
Everyone sits down to eat the meal together. It’s nice for the clients to be around other people who are fighting similar battles, and it’s a friendly, encouraging, fun group of people.
The topic of cancer fighting foods has really hit home lately, because my mom was recently diagnosed with cancer and is currently undergoing chemotherapy treatments. I’ve been helping her to understand what cancer fighting foods are the healthiest for her to be eating while she’s receiving chemo. It’s been an eye-opening experience, and I am glad that I can be here to help her fight this battle.
*UPDATE* – Sadly, my mother passed away unexpectedly on April 30, 2016, just before this post was scheduled to be published.
Here are links to several of the recipes that we’ve made in the Door to Wellness classes lately. I hope you’ll click over and print them out and/or Pin them to your favorite healthy recipes Pinterest board.
