BEAN, LLC, a company focused on building food systems and businesses that address the Midwest’s greatest food challenges, announces today the hiring of its new President Shane Towne. Co-founder and former president, Matt Ewer, is now focusing on the macro components and culture of the company and will serve as CEO.

“We are excited to welcome Shane to our team and look forward to the future of our company under his leadership,” said Ewer. “The cornerstones that BEAN is built upon align with Shane’s personal and professional foundation. His extensive experience in both the retail and wholesale food industries will be a great asset to BEAN. We are looking forward to expanding our food system models and innovating the farm-to-table industry.”

Towne has extensive experience in operations, procurement and marketing in the wholesale and retail food industries. Prior to joining the BEAN team, he served as director of marketing and strategic growth at Sendik’s Food Markets, senior marketer and new business development executive at Indianapolis Fruit Company and produce director for Bloomington Cooperative Services.

“I’m truly honored to join this progressive, talented team and collectively pursue the company’s goals of advancing the Midwest farm-to-table market,” said Towne. “I look forward to the opportunity to help build this extraordinary company and community food movement initiatives.”
