Fresh pasta is something that has to be experienced at least once. Whether you make it yourself at home or buy it from a specialty shop like I did, do your taste buds a favor and try some fresh pasta soon! Scroll down and see what I think are some of Indiana’s best fresh pasta varieties, and see my recipe suggestions for using it, too.

We had perfect little pasta nests for dinner last Sunday night.

These fresh pasta nests were perfection in a pot, and we ate every bite.  I had Chive Parmesan, and I think it was the best of them all.  The Parmesan cheese melted a little bit, forming a creamy sauce as the pasta was finishing up.

A pasta machine is in the top 10 of my “kitchen items I want” list.  Along with a food processor, a Keurig coffee maker, a stand mixer, and a gel mat to stand on. I admit, it is a strange list.

Anyhow, if you are ever in Broad Ripple, Indiana, make a point to visit this little market to buy fresh pasta.  The owners were behind the counter, prepping for a cooking class that was to be held there that night.

The prices are great and they have a great variety to choose from.  I also bought a pound of plain linguine and a small nest of Red Wine Papparadele  Can’t wait to try those!

There are few things (in the culinary world) more beautiful than a nest of fresh, handmade pasta.

We bought 4 varieties: roasted red pepper, orange pepper, garlic Parmesan and lemon pepper. Each perfectly portioned 4 oz size cooked in 2 minutes, and were served with a light drizzle of olive oil.

Here are some delicious pasta dinner recipes that you can use the fresh pasta in:
