Pepperoni pizza rolls are the perfect snack, appetizer, or light dinner. Seasoned pizza dough is filled with pepperoni and lots of mozzarella cheese, then baked until golden. Simple to make, and can be customized with virtually any fillings you like!
I used pepperoni in the pizza rolls because it makes them easier to roll up, but use any cooked meats or vegetables your family likes. If refrigerated pizza dough isn’t your thing, use your favorite homemade pizza dough recipe. As for the dipping sauce, I love homemade marinara, but ranch or garlic dipping sauces are great choices, too. These bite sized rolls are perfect for any get together.
Making the pizza rolls is super easy. Let your kids help!
Roll out dough on a floured surface, into a rectangle, roughly 24 by 20 inches in size.
With a knife or pizza cutter, carefully cut the rectangle horizontally into 2 inch wide strips. Then cut the entire rectangle in half vertically 1 time. You will then have at least 10 small rectangles.
Brush each dough strip with olive oil and sprinkle with Italian seasoning, Add a small slice of cheese, then add pepperoni, or the toppings of your choice. Because the pizza rolls won’t be in the oven very long, any meat and veggies you add should be fully cooked.
Roll up each strip and place, seam side down, on the cookie sheet. Then, lightly brush the tops with a bit of olive oil or melted butter. Sprinkle a bit more Italian seasoning on top of each roll.
Place in preheated oven and bake for 7-9 minutes or until golden brown, and serve with homemade marinara sauce, or a dipping sauce of your choice.
