Cinnamon apple cranberry sauce takes traditional cranberry sauce and flips it on its head!  Cinnamon-spiced pears and Granny Smith apples are added to fresh cranberries to make this perfect Thanksgiving side dish!
Cranberries, oh how I love them!

I love to cook with them, eat them in delicious recipes, and when possible drink them. I like to drink cranberries with a dash of Pomegranate vodka, in moderation, of course.

Every year, I make what I like to think is my signature holiday cranberry side dish, but truth be told, I make this cinnamon apple cranberry sauce a lot. I even included it in a cooking segment with Sherman Burdette on Fox 59.

This recipe is awesome over pound cake, pancakes, vanilla ice cream, or yogurt. Add a dollop to a slice of roast pork or chicken…Dee-Lish!

This jewel-toned cranberry sauce gets embellished with tart apple, cinnamon pears, and some citrus. If you can’t find cinnamon-flavored pears, use regular canned (light syrup) pears and add 1/2 tsp cinnamon.

Another favorite cranberry sauce recipe is 1 package of fresh cranberries, zest and juice of 1 large orange, and 1/2 cup sugar, simmered until berries pop and slightly thickened. But try this one, you will not regret it. ????

On a side, yet still related note, it makes my brain hurt every time I see that someone is serving a blob-shaped can of ‘jellied’ cranberry sauce.  Please don’t do it.  If it is about the money, then try this recipe instead. It’s inexpensive to make, your kids will like it, your old-school husband will like it, and even your grouchy Great-Aunt Edna will like it. Trust me!

After you try this cinnamon apple cranberry sauce recipe, please let me know what you think of it.
