  1. My Italian Grandmother always told me to remember whenever I felt discouraged, to hold on tightest to LOVE... Because in an instant or at the right time, LOVE will miraculously turn things around for the best. Hope springs eternal.
  2. My Granny always told me that I will make mistakes as a Mom and that's ok. Go with your heart and be honest with your children when you do make those mistakes. Learn from those mistakes and go forward, keeping your love for your kids at the core of what you do.
  3. Happiness comes from within yourself. Love yourself, so others can love you. Forgive yourself, no one is perfect! All from my beloved aunt.
  4. My Grandma C. taught me at a very early age to be a good steward of what the Lord has blessed me with. Then when I got married she gave me the best advice that I could have ever gotten."A wife can toss more out the back door with a spoon than the husband can bring in the front door with a shovel." I am ever learning new and creative ways to save money and make what I have stretch.
  5. When it comes to cooking, my mom always said, "Clean as you go." It makes cooking so much more enjoyable when you don't have a mess to clean up at the end.
  6. My grandmother always taught us to use a recipe as a guide, but take into account that you have to be able to make adjustments for your stove, for the weather, and for the quality of your ingredients. Sometimes the bread takes four-and-a-half cups of flour, sometimes it takes six cups. It isn't the number that's important - it's the dough.
  7. My mom always said I would know how much she loved me when I had my own daughter some day. She was right. She must have loved me all the love in the world because that is how much I love my daughter.
  8. My grandmother always said "if you can't say something nice, don't say anything!" It's especially fitting in today's world of snarky social media!
  9. Each day as I get older the one thing that really sticks in my mind that my grandmother and my mother use to always say--( I find myself saying and my husband even says it now also) that when I tell someone I will see them tomorrow or in a few days is ---LORD WILLING
  10. When I was pregnant with my first born, my mama's advice was to "balance discipline with love." Over the last 12 years I have learned to appreciate those are wise words from a mama who did a beautiful job of balancing discipline with love.
  11. Not really advice she gave me but what I observed from her. My Mom showed me how important family is. I continue to place my family in front of everything I do. Without them, I am nothing.
