Did you miss me on with Sean on B105.7 this week? If so, here are the recipes I shared with him.
Don’t be afraid when you read the ingredient list. I can assure you that not only do my kids and I drink these but they are actually good. Do they smell the best? Well, they smell- green. And like bananas. Are they the prettiest color? No. But I am a huge fan of the color green so I am partial to one of these.
I used dried plums from Sunsweet in one of these. It is winter here and access to fresh plums is limited. Use fresh if you have it (3-4 in this case). I know what you are thinking when I say dried plums. You hear PRUNES. Well, that’s what they are. We don’t need to have a conversation about how we all could use a little prune in our lives. Use your imagination here ????
My other piece of advice is that if you do not have a good blender do not make these. Here is why. I DO NOT have a good blender. I just don’t. I haven’t been able to drop $500 for the one I really want/need/covet yet (cough* Blendtec Cough* Vita-Mix). So my smoothies always come out like chunkies. My family has grown to accept this. They almost like it.
But if you were a fan of survivor in the early days and remember Jeff Probst adding 10 rancid ingredients from the wilds and the contestants drank these chunky concoctions for prizes and glory- then you can envision the consistency I am talking about here. Need to refresh your memory? Click HERE and HERE to do so. You have been warned.
These are fresh, give you a hit of plant protein and easy enough to where I can make them in the morning with no excuses. Hence the name of this post ????
