I love a good slow cooker recipe.  Throw it all in there before work and come home to a cooked meal.  What is there not to love?

Imagine my happiness when I find out that my local go-to bean company, Hurst Beans, is rolling out 2 new products for the slow cooker: Chili and Bacon and Beans. I tried both out on my family and used the helpful add-ins that were suggested on the packaging.  I added Best Boy and Co Adobo BBQ sauce to the bacon and Beans along with some brown sugar and it was the perfect accompaniment to smoked pork and an ice cold salad.

The chili however, was a different story.  Not only did I try this out with my family (and we loved it!) but I was also asked to make it on IndyStyle that airs on WISH TV daily at 9 am.  I was thrilled to be asked and honored to be asked to represent the 4 generation company that has roots in downtown Indianapolis for over 75 years.

Click on the link below to watch our segment and if you like what you see (and you will!) you can find this at Indiana Marsh Supermarkets and later in the year- in supermarkets near you.

Cooked meat, water, a green pepper, a chopped onion and half of the seasoning packet is all you need to start.
Use Indiana favorite Red Gold Tomatoes

Assembly is quick. and in the last 30 minutes you add a can of diced tomatoes and a small can of tomato paste. DO NOT add the tomatoes until the last 30 minutes.

Set up a toppings bar, customize it to your tastes ????
