Here is another great recipe from the newest Gooseberry Patch cookbook ~ Garfield:Recipes with CATtitude!
I made this for myself for Mother’s Day!
Ingredients
- 3 eggs, beaten
- 3/4 C half and half
- 1 TB strawberry jam or preserves
- 8 thick slices of French bread
- 2-3 TB butter
- sliced strawberries as garnish
Instructions
- In a shallow bowl, whisk together eggs, half and half and jam.
- Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Dip bread slices in the egg mixture, coating both sides.
- Cook until golden on both sides.
- Serve warm toast slices topped with a large dollop of strawberry butter
Important Notes
Strawberry Butter: Combine 1/3 C strawberry jam or preserves and 1/4 C softened butter.
