Michelob Ultra Light Hard Cider…..

It seems every year I am looking for a new ‘signature’ drink of summer.  In past years there has been the pomegranate martini, the ciprihana, the iced tea vodka lemonade and many others. The problem is that none of these are portable, easy to pack in a cooler and take too many ingredients. I just wanted a light, low calorie drink that was easy to make and a crowd pleaser!
The discovery…
I was contacted by BlogHer about a newly released product form Michelob called Ultra Light Hard Cider and that day I set out to find this! I hit pay dirt when I went to my first destination.  I was able to find it at my local Meijer and since then I have found it at Wal-Mart as well as several local liquor stores.
I immediately fell in love and had found what is MY drink choice for summer.
Tastes crisp, light and refreshing, not thick or over sweetened like other hard ciders.  Can be enjoyed straight or over a glass of ice.  Ultra Light Cider offers a less sweet, lower calorie alternative to traditional ciders and is naturally sweetened and made from hand-picked apples. From the moment you crack open a bottle you immediately smell the aroma of fresh apples!
What really sold me on this new beverage…

Michelob ULTRA Light Cider has 1/3 less calories than an average of the leading regular hard ciders, 120 cal./serving in light hard cider vs. 180 cal./serving in an average of the leading hard ciders. You just can’t beat that.  One of the worst parts about enjoying an adult beverage from time to time is the added caloric punch.  I feel much better consuming this particular drink when it not only tastes good but is also easier on my wasitline!

What Annheuser-Busch has to say…
“As more people continue to discover cider, we’ve found that many view traditional ciders as either too heavy, too sweet or both,” said Ryan Moore, vice president of premium lights, Anheuser-Busch.  “This perception has often times limited ciders to a seasonal beverage during fall and winter, but we saw an untapped potential to expand the category as a year-round option.  Michelob ULTRA Light Cider fills this void with a lower calorie cider with a milder, but distinct, sweetness that can be enjoyed straight or over ice.”
Anheuser-Busch’s Michelob ULTRA announced the newest addition to its portfolio, Michelob ULTRA Light Cider, a naturally sweetened and gluten-free cider made from crisp apples.  Featuring one-third fewer calories (120) and a more mellowed sweetness than traditional ciders*, Michelob ULTRA Light Cider is ideal for year-round enjoyment and provides a light, refreshing alternative to white wine, champagne and heavier ciders.
We enjoyed one while sitting on the deck of our lakehouse, in the trees ????
