Apple Finger Pies are WHAT exactly??

It is no secret that I am not the apple pie baker in the house. That crown clearly belongs to my husband, because He makes a fantastic apple pie!

But I can really knock it out of the park with mini-pies. Of course, I use store bought dough (so what?), but we like them. Even better is that my kids can make them!

5 years ago, we were featured in a family publication in our local newspaper, and my son Noah made our recipe for finger pies. He was so much more meticulous than I could ever be, resulting in perfect apple finger pies. I look back fondly on these photos, because the boys were SO small! (photos courtesy of the Greenwood Daily Journal).

(we also made taco salad cups)

trying to let NOAH do it himself!

I recently shared my apple finger pies on a segment of IndyStyle (watch HERE), and the crew loved them! That’s why I updated this recipe to share it with you all again. I mean, 2010 was a LONG time ago, right?

This recipe comes together quickly, making it perfect for family gatherings, tailgating, or a quick dessert.

I use an apple slicer that you press down and it makes perfect uniform slices. It’s Apple%20Corer Slicer by Savorini – Stainless Steel Fruit Cutter Divider – FREE BONUS GIFT Included for Limited Time: Savorini Jar Opener – Slicer Divider Cuts Eight Pieces Quickly and Easily – Great for Apples, Pears, etc. – Larger 4-1/8″ diameter also fits bigger fruit varieties. 100% MONEY BACK GUARANTEE – Perfect for preparing healthy snacks – Get one today!this one. Next, I open a can of crescent rolls, lay then out, brush with butter, dust with cinnamon and sugar, place the apple, roll up and bake. If you want to get fancy you can ice them. OR drizzle in caramel:) My caramel of choice is from Best Boy & CO.

Give these a try and let me know what you think. Forgive the rough photos- they were taken on set between segments.

I spy Best Boy Caramel AND my Apple Cider Syrup!

I hope you love these apple finger pies! Here’s the recipe:
