Asparagus recipes are flying around left and right in my kitchen right now! Who could blame me? Unless you don’t like asparagus in which case this post might not be for you. But, see past that and check out these simple ‘recipes’ for flatbreads that are perfect for entertaining or a light lunch.

Simple, delicious and beautiful

One of my favorite things to order at a restaurant is their seasonal flatbread. It’s like a healthier (sometimes) version of pizza and I love them. Right about now spring produce is popping up in markets and on menus so I wanted to jump in here and share one of my favorite ways to enjoy asparagus- roasted on a base of healthy flatbread. Less dough and more flavor.

Asparagus recipes are varied online from the standard saute to the roasted doused in olive oil, lemon juice or white wine. Why not combine many of your favorite asparagus recipes in one great bite? So that’s what I did.

These are not asparagus recipes per se- but more of a tip or treatment. Below each photo I shared what I used and how I made them. Let me know if YOU try one of these asparagus recipes for yourself. I would love to know what you think!

I used Toufayan Bakeries flatbreads here. You can find a complete list of retail locations online HERE. I have found 2 varieties at at least 4 markets within 30 miles of my house. They are the perfect portion and the dough holds up well to being topped and tastes great to boot!

Besides the flatbread- the other stars of the show: fresh asparagus and Best Boy and Co deli-mustard (all natural and made in Indiana!)

Rough shots- never mind my very seasoned (and clean) pans. They are over 16 years old!

Grilled chicken, Asparagus spears, peccorino romano cheese dusting and a drizzle of deli-mustard when it is fresh from the oven!

Flatbread brushed with mustard, topped with Italian ham wrapped asparagus spears. Simply delicious!

And my favorite- pancetta, asparagus and Parmesan. MMMMM!

A simple goat cheese, salt, pepper, asparagus and olive oil drizzle for this one!
