The first recipe I want to share form the new Garfield: Recipes with CATtitude by Gooseberry Patch Cookbooks is for Country Sausage Gravy. This traditional favorite is one of the first breakfast menu items I learned as a young married woman. Plus, if Gaarfield likes it then it MUST be good!

Ingredients
- 1 lb ground pork breakfast sausage
- 12 oz can evaporated milk
- 1/4 C butter, softened
- 2-3 TB all purpose flour
- garlic salt and pepper to taste
- 6 buttermilk biscuits, split
Instructions
- Brown sausage in a skillet over medium heat, partially drain.
- Stir in mlik and bring to a low simmer.
- In a small bowl, blend together butter and flour until smooth.
- Slowly stir in to the sausage mixture.
- Add seasonings.
- Cook over low heat for 5 minutes, stirring frequently, until thickened.
- Spoon over warm biscuits.
