Apple pie roll-ups are a quick and easy hand held dessert. Made with just 4 ingredients, this easy apple pie recipe is perfect for after school snacks, too.

I love easy dessert recipes, and in particular, easy apple dessert recipes, and if you are the same way, this roll-ups recipe is perfect for you! There are so many simple ways to use apples in desserts. I have created recipes for apple crispcaramel apple bites, and even apple pie fingers, but I think today’s recipe might be my favorite apple dessert to date.

A few days ago, I was at a specialty grocery store and I came across an area where there was a woman making fresh tortillas. We stood and watched her for a while and she let us sample one fresh from the grill. Oh my, were they good!  I bought a few dozen regular ones and she wrapped them up so that they would freeze well. When I was walking away, she asked if I would like to try her cinnamon-sugar tortillas. What a silly question!  Of course we sampled them! Wow, is all I can say. They were great by themselves, but I had a great dessert idea that I wanted to try to make with them.

When I got home, I filled the flour tortillas with apple pie filling and baked them into apple pie roll-ups.

All you will need to make the apple pie roll-ups are a few simple ingredients:

6 flour tortillas – you can use plain, whole wheat, or any other variety you like.

Apple pie filling – 1 regular sized can of apple pie filling will make about 6 apple pie-roll-ups. If you don’t like apple pie, just use any flavor of pie filling that you and your family will enjoy.

1/4 cup Turbinado sugar – if you can’t find it in the baking aisle of your local grocery store, you can use granulated sugar, but your apple pie roll-ups won’t have the extra crunch on the outside that turbinado sugar provides.

8 ounces plain flavored cream cheese – you can use a regular, low fat, or light variety.

2 cups powdered sugar

1 Tablespoon milk

Preheat oven to 300 F.
Lay the tortillas on a greased baking sheet. Fill with a small scoop of pie filling. Roll them up and place seam side down back on the baking sheet.

Brush tops of roll-ups with melted butter and sprinkle with Turbinado sugar.

Bake in oven just until lightly browned and filling is bubbly. Remove pan from oven and allow roll-ups to cool slightly before drizzling with cream cheese glaze.

I hope you like the apple pie roll-ups recipe!
