Chocolate peanut butter chip cookies are thick, chewy, and fudgy. Loaded with dark chocolate and peanut butter chips, they are perfect with a tall glass of milk or a mug of coffee.
I just had to run into Meijer for a few things. Isn’t that the way it always starts out? I go in for milk and $100 later, I have a cart full of nothing.
I had my oldest son with me and we both were hungry. He was going on and on about cookies. He was really in the mood for chocolate peanut butter cookies. Apparently, he forgot about the peanut butter cookies sitting in the kitchen at home. At any rate, while I was looking for buckwheat flour, he scoured the baking chips area of the aisle I was in. It was there he found his favorite “chip”, the Reese’s Peanut Butter chips. He nonchalantly dropped them into the basket when my attention was elsewhere. Looking back, I can imagine that he had a devilish grin on his face when he thought he had slipped them past me.
I get to the express line and see those peanut butter chips at the bottom of the basket. I looked at him and knew he was up to something. He just looked around. I told him that he was being sneaky, and before he could respond, the cashier launched into giving me a guilt trip of epic proportions. So of course at that point I had to get them. I would have gotten them all along and I was about to tell him that when I was interrupted by the Guilt Giving Granny. ????
Incidentally, the recipe for these chocolate peanut butter chip cookies is not mine.
In fact, it is the one right on the back of the package of peanut butter chips. Why mess with a great recipe, especially when it is dropped into your cart?
