Cleaning material
In order to vigorously clean every nook and corner of your kitchen, you need to first gather all the necessary cleaning supplies, which include the following
- Sponge
- Long handles dust mop
- Small bucket (preferably with handle).
- Vacuum with multipurpose attachments
- All-purpose cleaner, dish soap.
- Ladder
- Clothed dusters
De-clutter
First things first, clear out the clutter and dirty dishes. This will make room for intense cleaning.
Clean the walls
Once you have successfully de-cluttered, now it’s time to clean the walls. Dust the ceiling and corners of walls. You can also use dust mop if you have high ceiling spots. Spot wash all the dirty spots on the wall and don’t forget to clean the door knobs, door, air vent and switch plates
. You can also use a wet sponge to wipe clean grease, grime, and spilled food from your walls.
Clean the art and photos on the wall
Don’t directly spray cleanser or sprinkle water onto the framed art and photographs. The liquid can seep behind the picture and damage the frame. What you can do is use a damp cloth and gently wipe the frame and glass.
Clean the ceiling fan
Since you are deep cleaning, don’t forget to dust the ceiling fan. you may also use any good brand’s mild oil soap, but gently wipe it off, don’t use any harsh chemical or scrub vigorously. Just use a damp cloth to clean your ceiling fan, don’t spray a lot of cleanser/water, or it may result in your ceiling fan getting rusted.
Remove light weight fixture
Remove any light weight fixture in your kitchen, gently wash them and put them back once they are fully dry. This will help providing ample space for deep cleaning and mopping your kitchen floor.
Wash curtain and blinds
Since you are deep cleaning your kitchen, it doesn’t make sense to keep the dirty draperies, blinds and curtains on.
Take them down, either machine wash them or get them cleaned as per the manufacturer’s instructions.
Clean oven
This spot in your kitchen need maximum cleaning effort. Ovens over the time get greasy and dirty and cleaning them once a month is a mandatory task.
So I would suggest you to use an oven cleaner, apply it and leave it for some time until it does its magic. In the meantime you can focus your attention on cleaning your refrigerator.
Clean refrigerator
After oven, refrigerator is another place that needs a lot of cleaning, make sure to unplug the cord once you start cleaning it. Vacuum the coil, sweep and mop underneath the refrigerator too. Sort out all the food items in the freezer and fridge. Get rid of expired food, almost empty cans, and those items that you bought and never used.
Take out the shelves and drawers, wash them, and leave them in the sunlight for some time to get rid of any refrigerator odor. In the meantime, also wipe down the entire refrigerator and freezer before replacing shelves and food.
Hope the above mentioned tips will prove to be helpful in deep cleaning your kitchen. Happy cleaning!
