Maple cranberry sauce is a homemade holiday side dish, bursting with fresh cranberries and maple syrup. Making it will get you to think outside of the can!

Today I appeared on my local CBS affiliate, WISHTV, on their morning lifestyle show- IndyStyle.  Since the Thanksgiving holiday is closing in, I thought it would be good to share a few of my favorite holiday homemade cranberry sauce recipes.  You know~ thinking outside of the can’.

Now, don’t get me wrong. I completely understand that the thought of straying too far from the traditional log-shaped solid cranberry jelly is too much for some people.  Traditions and habits are hard to break.  But I hope you give one of these recipes a chance on your holiday buffet table this year.  Not only are they economical, they are easy to assemble and crowd tested for approval!

NO judgement! I know habits are hard to break ????

The first recipe up, cinnamon apple cranberry sauce, is so delicious, I could eat it as a meal by itself.

This next recipe will give you something extra special to be thankful for at your Thanksgiving table.

Maple cranberry sauce adds a touch of maple syrup to the cranberries, giving them the perfect sweetness.

The final cranberry sauce recipe makes use of one of winter’s star citrus fruits, the Clementine. It comes from my good friend Christie Vanover, of Zestuous.com.  Her cranberry sauce recipe is a cinch to put together and has a well balanced combination of cranberry and citrus.

The addition of a dollop of pineapple preserves and just a small amount of sugar adds just the right amount of sweetness to an otherwise tart cranberry.
