Fish burrito bowls are a healthy meal and can be on the table in 20 minutes or less! Add your favorite burrito ingredients, zesty seasoned fish and brown rice- for a heart healthy dinner!

Recently I joined forces with Seafood Nutrition Partnership to create a heart healthy recipe to share on my monthly IndyStyle appearance. I had recently toured a local farm, Falling Waters Farms, and was delighted that they agreed to not only come on the show with me but also share some of their fish for use in my segments! Together we some tasty fish burrito bowls!

Fish Burrito Bowls

Falling Waters Farms is located in Indianapolis and I found them through the Indiana Grown network of members. They are members just like me. Once I heard about what they were growing indoors I knew I needed to get a good look for myself.

Not only do they raise tilapia (and not a little bit either, a LOT) but they use the fish waste (once cleaned) to feed their aquaponics operation! Microgreens, arugula, romaine and more. I was so impressed and even though they have only been in operation for a short time, I foresee a big, bright future for this company! What I saw was a unique ability to provide healthy lean proteins year-round to a lot of people. I don’t know about you, but I worry quite a bit about how we are going to feed our growing population and I think it will take ALL kinds of options to make this happen.

Falling Waters Farms is continuously experimenting to see what plants do best under which conditions. Like a continuous science experiment!

Now back to the fish burrito bowls!
