 Old Fashioned Sticky Chicken

Last year my Foodie Friend Christy Jordan of SouthernPlate.com released her cookbook: Come Home to Supper and I snagged that puppy up as soon as it hit Amazon. After being a fan of hers for years, I knew that this new cookbook would be a favorite of mine because she and I seem to have a similar cooking style. Actually, after getting to know Christy (virtually) a little better I found that she and I have a lot in common. I hope to meet her in real life someday. Maybe this fall when I get back to Alabama for vacation!

I made several recipes from her cookbook and at some point I will get all of those shared here. First up is her recipe for Old Fashioned Sticky Chicken. In the cookbook she makes this with chicken legs, I have also made this using split breasts. I have served this over both white rice and mashed potatoes as she suggests, as this recipe makes a nice little sauce that cooks along with the chicken.

I made this using 8-12 chicken legs (3 lbs total) and baked it for about 90 minutes and turned the legs about halfway through.

If you too struggle with finding time to get dinner on the table and squeezing in time to be with family is getting difficult, then family meals are so important. It is the one time of the day we all can just slow down and just be. Sharing a meal is the best kind of family time!
