Loose Meat Sandwiches~ Can I just say how much I love this recipe? I have been searching for this recipe, one that replicates a sandwich I once had in Iowa. Christy Jordan has recreated this favorite from my youth!
It may seem like I am on a Christy Jordan posting spree this week, but I am not. It just so happens that several of the recipes I have made lately have been hers! They were all so family-pleasing that I wanted to share them with you all. Did you catch the Old Fashioned Sticky Chicken and Dirty Rice Recipe? They were dee-lish!
Christy Jordan is the creator of SouthernPlate.com and you can find her recipes and videos there. Take a look. I think you will like what she has going on over there, I sure do. She has a positive take on family meals and life in general and I find that refreshing.

I made her recipe (several times now) just as she created it with the exception of Accent. I couldn’t find that anywhere up here. This is a great meal if you need to feed a crowd and in my case it made a great meal for my son and his swimmer friends. I made it in the morning and kept it warm in the slow cooker.
Have you ever had a loose meat sandwich? It is similar to a sloppy joe, but with less sauce. It is quite literally- loose meat. Seasoned and a bit sweet and a little savory. I love them. Over the years I have looked for a recipe that was close to the sandwich I had had several years ago and many recipes I have made were just dry versions of a Spanish burger or sloppy joe. Try this one and let me know what you think!
