 Indiana Pork Producers

Indiana Pork

Indiana Pork will be sponsoring and running three pork tents during the Indiana State Fair this year. Featuring the famous pork burgers, pork chops, pork burgers, pulled pork BBQ, garbage burger, and the boneless pork chop. You can make it a meal by adding applesauce, chips and a drink to your order.

I mean- fair food is great. Sure you can get some fried gastr-buster from a booth that travels from festival to festival, city to city. But why not take a few minutes to dine at one of Indiana’s fine producer tents? This is Indiana afterall and the fair just would not be the fair to me without at least ONE pork burger during my time there. Plus a grilled cheese and shake from the Dairy Barn (but that is a post for another time…).

Indiana Pork Producers

This year the Indiana Pork Producers have teamed up with the Indiana State Department of Agriculture to help fight hunger in Indiana. For every entrée that a customer decides to “make a meal” they will donate one ground pork meal to food banks across the state. ISDA has helped fund this promotion through their Livestock Promotion Grant Award program. Their goal is to sell 30,000 meals which will result in the donation of 7,500 pounds of pork to Indiana food banks. Once all of the meals have been tallied the ground pork will be purchased, packaged through McFarling Foods and sent out to food banks across the state.

Indiana Pork Producers

By making your selection a ‘meal’ you are not only enjoying a great Indiana produced pork product but you are also helping to feed a Hoosier family. I think this is a true win-win. Help spread the word on what the Indiana Pork Producers are doing this year- share this post and information with you fair-going family and friends. Plus- I have a giveaway at the bottom of this post ????

Pork burgers!! We used to go and buy a package of frozen ones as well so we could make them at home! They don't do that anymore :0(

My memories of the Pork Tent go way back to when I was a little girl (and that's been awhile!). My dad was a band director, so we always went on Band Day to watch the performances. We ALWAYS ate at the pork farmers' tent, so I'd have to have a pork chop in honor of my dad!

Pulled pork or a pork burger. My husband worked for the pork producers at the State Fair for almost 20 years. He was a cart guy - drove the golf cart from tent to tent to restock or solve problems. His involvement got me hooked on the Indiana producers and on Shoup's seasoning. Now, I can't eat Fair food unless I've visited the Indiana producers tents - pork, dairy, beef and sometimes lamb.

Learn to play poker before you start playing and becoming a pro. When you play in poker rooms, use proper gaming etiquette when against other people. Without such understanding, winning in it is not possible.
