B's Po Boy

The Wall of Specials and wine/beer offerings- which was immense

Last week I had the pleasure of stumbling upon a new (to me) eatery in the Fountain Square area of Indianapolis- B’s Po Boy. Now keep in mind that I am not in fact a reviewer of restaurants. Rather I am a sharer of facts.

Fact: I loved this place

Fact: My kids did too

Fact: The food is authentic, affordable, delicious

Fact: It may become the go-to for my husband and I when we are in the mood for a good meal, enjoyed outside that I don’t have to cook

Owners Deborah & Ryan Borchelt talking to diners

B’s Po Boy was opened in Fountain Square to give diners a taste of the south through their Po Boy’s, drool worthy sides like Remoulade, Creole Slaw, Chicken and Sausage Gumbo and Andouille with Red Beans and Rice. Another fact: the first time I went I ordered all of these sides. I had to.

Gator Bites. Yep- you read that right.

My Po Boy choice was was the BBQ Pulled Pork and due to my high volume of sides consumed I stuck with the half size portion. Don’t let that fool you though- half is enough. Had I not felt the need to taste my way through their menu I would have ordered a full size.

That bread man- that bread. Did I mention the bread they use is from Leidenheimer Baking Company in New Orleans? Soft yet not too soft, this enclosure for their authentic fillings is the icing on the cake. Especially if you are a bread person like me.

Child-friendly, pet-friendly (outdoors of course) and with the perfect outdoor area for kicking back and relaxing with Bocce and giant Jenga- I declare B’s Po Boy worth the drive and definitely worth a taste.

I almost forgot to tell you about the beignets! Oh my. Just get them. Don’t question it-just close your eyes and take a bite of that doughy heaven. Make sure not to inhale the powdered sugar like it did though…

Is this a restaurant review? I don’t think so. But like everything else I share on Basilmomma.com- it is my truth. Just sharin’ the love friends, sharin’ the love…I was not compensated for this post and I bought my own food. So there ????

Looks yummy! Our last duty location prior to Indiana was Tuscaloosa, AL & this menu has me missing good southern cooking that I'm not having to make! We will most definitely be checking them out! Thanks for sharing :)
