Holiday Gift Ideas With Verizon Wireless

Welcome! Are you a subscriber? Click here to receive my weekly newsletter. Thanks for visiting!

This is not one of my typical posts as I do not normally do an annual gift guide.  I used to do one for edible gifts but after a few years I ran out of time.  Then around the end of December I would get all of these ideas and by then it was too late.

Recently I had the opportunity to play with a bunch of new gadgets at my local Verizon Wireless store.  I am not a gadget girl.  I am one that has to have the salesperson walk me through how to use my new phone.  Or my kids have to show me how to use it.  So having time in the Verizon Store alone and without other shoppers allowed me to hone in on the why’s and how’s of some new products.

My first discovery was the Fitbit Flex.  I know I am late on this bandwagon but in the words of my kids “all my friends have them”.  Movers and shakers, walkers and runners alike.  I am an on again and off again exerciser but I think the guilt of seeing my inactivity would work for me.  I never have wanted to track how much I am moving, calories and whatnot.  The Fitbit will do that for me.  I like that.

It comes in a variety of non-descript colors and is water resistant.  Comfortable to wear to bed and I have had it on for 2 days and I hardly even notice it.  That is saying a lot since I do not enjoy wearing bracelets.  Even better is that I move way more than I thought.  After taking a few minutes to set it up online, I can track my movements on my smart phone.  Never fear: you do not need a smartphone to use the Fitbit.  Get more information HERE

Do you ever wish you could attach a GPS tracker to your keys, wallet or purse? I have.  I had a scary situation over the weekend with my purse.  I have this one fantastically expensive purse that I bought for myself after saving for what seemed like forever.  I left it on the back of my chair at a restaurant then drove an hour home.  I didn’t even realize I had left it.  I grabbed my keys and phone (which were on the table for some reason) and didn’t even remember my purse was sitting there until the next morning.  I had about 30 minutes of panic until it dawned on me where it was.  Had I had THIS in my purse I could have found it faster. The inSite is a must for those who lose things.  Get all of the information HERE. This very reasonable gift may really save you in some situations.

In the last few years I have bought a few rinky-dink, low cost speakers for my kids and I that we use to play the music stored on our devices.  They didn’t hold up or last.  One in particular just flat out quit working and I had to return it.  This year someone on my list is getting one of these.  He doesn’t know it yet but he is ????  My kids are music lovers of all genre’s (they get that from me) and now one of them will be able to take their tunes from room to room-wirelessly! I think I made that word up ????

SO I couldn’t leave without trying out a few phones.  I am overdue for a new one and have enjoyed my Iphone 4s for 2 years now.  I use it a LOT.  Being able to work from pretty much anywhere frees me up to not be tethered to my PC.  Not to mention that it takes GREAT shots of food- which as you know I do a lot of that ????

Having said this, I think I am actually moving towards getting the Samsung Galaxy Note III.  I was blown away with the functionality of this device and got a few tutorials on how to make it work for me and my busy life.  I fell in love.  Stay tuned to see what I choose.

What kind of devices do YOU want to know more about? Let me know and I will ask my Verizon rep- we can help YOU out!

*I was not compensated for this post.  All opinions are my own. I was given the chance to play in a store before the customers got there.  How cool is that?
