I have recently heard about a new website which helps take the guess work out of buying wine : Likelii
I have a few friends who are not only wine shop owners but also experts in their field but I can not bring them everywhere I go, I can not call them every time I need an idea or a new label to try. Likelii helps take some of the pressure off and I can get a good bottle for the money spent. Plus, now that it is getting closer to the holidays I can plug in someone’s preferences and BAM! I get a name of a bottle and can easily have it shipped to their home (providing their state allows shipping of wine via mail).
You can find any wine varietal, such as chardonnay, cabernet sauvignon, merlot, pinot noir, pinot grigio, pinot gris on their website and like Pandora or Netflix, your recommendations build based off of what you order and what your wine preferences are.
“At Likelii, we believe the best wines are the wines that taste best to you. So your Likelii recommendations are based on wines you have liked in the past. In fact, we believe a rating of 85 or 95 points by a critic shouldn’t affect what you drink – after all, your palate is just that, yours….”
