Hot Fudge Sauce ….and a Great New Indiana Artisan

Welcome! Are you a subscriber? Click here to receive my weekly newsletter. Thanks for visiting!

Some things are perfect, just the way they are. Take my favorite all time ice cream topper hot fudge for instance. Perfect. I like mine dark, thick and homemade. I a snob here. The store bought stuff just doesn’t cut it for me.
I have a go-to recipe that I use (below) and from time to time I will add a bit of espresso powder for a little depth. Until a few months I would not have bought pre-made sauce when it is so easy and quick to make my own. Then I went to the Indiana Artisan Festival and fell in love with Best Boy & Co Gourmet Natural Foods.

I went on and on at the show about how much I loved their mocha hot fudge that they sent me a pack of sauces to try. I was thrilled!!  I can’t wait to dig in to them and I wanted to share this company with you. You can order from them online AND 100% of their profits go to 501(c)3 charities like Doctors Without Borders for example. Now I am really in love ????

Bourbon Barrel Caramel, Carolina BBQ Sauce, Adobo BBQ Sauce and Balsamic Hot Fudge

It was good timing too because I had already put together a post for my hot fudge sauce so I decided to tack this on so you all could show them some love. Visit them on Facebook HERE

Old Fashioned Hot Fudge

1 stick unsalted butter
1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 cup whipping cream
2/3 cup firmly packed dark brown sugar
1/2 cup sugar
Pinch of salt

Melt butter in heavy medium saucepan over medium heat. Add cocoa and whisk until smooth. Gradually add cream. Stir in sugars and salt. Simmer until mixture is smooth and sugars dissolve, about 3 minutes.
