IFOF Ambassador (3)The corn is high and 4H projects are complete~ it MUST be time for the Indiana State Fair!  This year take what is already a fun day for the family to all new heights and follow the Indiana Family of Farmers Recipe Trail!

Indiana State Fair attendees who follow the Indiana’s Family of Farmers Recipe Trail at the fairgrounds will help feed the hungry and receive a useful popcorn-shaped memento.

For each person who finishes the trail, IFOF partners with Feeding Indiana’s Hungry to donate one pound of food to food banks across the state. Recipe trail travelers donated more than 3,000 pounds of food last year. This year’s goal is 3,500 pounds, so 3,500 people need to go through the recipe trail to attain the goal.

Deep fried cheese! I know. Not very adventurous.

  • Chris

I love the State Fair! So glad to share my fandom with others!

  • Lucinda Bostick

That is a tough one… I tend to steer clear of the ddep-fried candy bars and oreos…lol A nice grilled cheese from the dairy barn is more my speed!

  • Westin H

I’m not very adventurous so the most unusual was probably the fiesta potatoes. Like nachos but made with potatoes instead.

  • Amanda

I loved the fried banana foster cheesecake. It was fabulous!!

  • Denise Wilson

I am not too adventurous when it comes to eating fair foods. I usually stick to a pork burger and pineapple whip. But, we did try a fried cheesecake a couple years ago.

  • Aimee W

I’m not much for trying strange and odd things….I got nothing! lol But there are some delicious foods at the fair.

  • Laura Bleill

    Fried pepsi.

  • Doreen Herndon

I usually don’t try those “weird” food items at the Fair. I stick with what I love, Ribeye Sandwich, Elephant Ear, etc.
We did try the deep fried cheesecake one year.

  • JuneF

I haven’t been to a fair in years so I haven’t tried anything newly adventurous. If I win the tickets I can, though!
