Perrotta’s Kitchen Indianapolis- A Culinary Gem in Indianapolis
One of the first things I will do when I make it big is hire someone who comes in my house from time to time to cook for me. Yes, I am more than capable of cooking just about anything I want to eat. But have you ever sat down in a restaurant and become overwhelmed by the mouthwatering choices? Do you ever daydream a bit about someone cooking a meal, just for you, and eliminating the need to hem and haw over a choice?
It is very rare that I get to have a dining experience where I can literally sit, enjoy a glass of wine and have plate after plate of delicious food placed in front of me- but such is the case in Perrotta’s Kitchen.
(You may have heard me interview last years winner Gustavo Perrotta on Around the Kitchen Sink if not click HERE)
Gustavo Perrotta launched his culinary dreams after winning the Reliable Water Services Hottest Kitchen Entrepreneur Challenge at Indy’s Kitchen in 2013. Gustavo, with the help of wife Katy, started what has consistently been a sold out weekend dinner series out of the kitchen at Indy’s Kitchen. Each event, held on Saturday nights, seats 12 and allows for you to bring your own beer and wine selections. The menu is posted ahead of time on their website and offers pairing suggestions for wines and beers.
We first dined in Perrotta’s Kitchen in October of 2013. It was very easy to make a reservation and pay online-that’s one of the best parts. You pay then you are set with nothing more to think about other than what wine to bring! Once we got there we realized that this is exactly what we had been thinking about planning with several other couples- except we would have to go back and forth and decide where to go. When you dine in PK you could potentially reserve all 12 spots for you and your friends, a girls night out, a family get together- you name it. The price is right and for the attention to detail, tremendously well thought out menu to watching Gustavo cook- this is more than a meal.
This is an experience.
Gustavo and his wife Katy are quite a team. Providing a relaxed atmosphere where you are a part of the experience in the kitchen, you learn why he created that particular menu, how he prepared it and you can give instant feedback. The conversation centers around food and even though you may not know the other diners- after a few minutes you are all laughing together and enjoying the evening.
